Exhibitions of Objects of Antiquties Abroad

The Exhibition “İstanbul : City and the Sultan” ” was held in Amsterdam from 16th December 2006 to 15th April 2007. Queen Beatrix of Netherlands was present in the inauguration of the exhibition. More than 200 objects belonging to four Turkish museums were displayed in the exhibition.

The exhibition entitled “Türkiye: 7000 Years of History” was inaugurated by H.E. Ahmet Necdet Sezer, President of the Republic of Türkiye and H.E. Giorgio Napolitano, President of the Italian Republic at Palazzo del Quirinale on January 10, 2007. 43 objects of Turkish museums were displayed in the exhibition for three months. Later, the Exhibition was held in Napoli between 27 April and 31 May 2007 with additional 52 items of antiquities from our museums.

The Exhibition “12.000 Years Ago in Anatolia : The Oldest Monuments o f Mankind” in which Turkish artifacts were being displayed, was held from January 20 to June 17, 2007 at Kalrsruhe Badisches Landesmuseum. 387 objects of 12 Turkish museums were displayed in the exhibition.

“Crossroads of Ceramics –Türkiye, where the East and the West Meet” Exhibition was held in Gyeonggi-do province of the Republic of Korea between April 28th and June 17th, 2007 as a part of “World Ceramic Biennale 2007 Korea”. Approximately 170 objects of antiquities from our five museums were displayed during the exhibition.

The exhibition entitled “Treasures of the Topkapı Palace - Magnificent Ottoman Dynasty" was opened on June 31st, 2007 in Tokyo. The exhibition will be on display in there cities, namely Tokyo, Kyoto and Nagoya until February 2008. Topkapı Palace Museum and the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Art have lended 140 items fron their collection for the exhibition.
